Educo (ChildFund Alliance member in Spain) is an international development NGO which works to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations, especially children.
Background
Educo (ChildFund Alliance member in Spain) is an international development NGO. We defend children’s rights and promote sustainable social change by improving the living conditions of the vulnerable populations, especially children. Thus, our point of reference is the international Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our priority action area is education; health and food security as a complementary sectors.
Educo (formerly known as Intervida) has been working in Cambodia since 2005, carrying out educational and health projects.
MISSION
Direct and coordinate the country delegation based in Phnom Penh but it will be necessary to travel frequently to other provinces (Svay Rieng, Kratie, Battambang). |

Country Director for Cambodia
Duties
- Transfer and ensure compliance with the work guidelines in the Country Office according to Educo Strategic Plan.
- Guarantee the proper investment of funds and adherence to the Annual Plans and Budgets.
- Direct and Coordinate personnel in the Country Office.
- Represent the Country Office at National level and fundraising.
- To establish and promote development programs jointly with local partners.
Requirements
- Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent background in development, child rights, social science, social rights and social development or a related field.
- Languages
- Excellent spoken and written English. Spanish and Khmer will be a plus.
- Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of child right approach programming.
- Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional work experience in international development programs with a focus on child rights in Asia Pacific/South East Asia.
- Extensive experience and demonstrated capacity in working with multi-stakeholder groups involving local government units, government and private institutions and non-governmental organizations.
- Skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with and lead a team.

CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

JOB CONDITIONS:
SALARY
- 35.000 € gross salary per annum (all extra payments included). Salary is negotiable subject to candidate’s experience and the actual country of residence).
LOCATION
- The Country Director will be based in the Central Office of Educo Cambodia located in Phnom Penh city.
DURATION OF THE ASSIGMENT
- The initial duration is expected to be 12 months with possible extension
