Duties + Requirements
Logistics & Operations Manager

Duties
  • To handle technical details relating to possibly international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation.
  • To efficiently evaluate the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy.
  • To have a knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation.
  • To build relationships with Logistics mediators and work closely with package engineers to ensure the protection of freight in transportation.
  • For a Logistics Manager, documentation and organisation is important – any changes to operating procedures, prioritisation or any problems must be documented and communicated accurately.
  • To be responsible for administrative functions such as budgeting, equipment and liaison to Customer Service.
  • To ensure that all elements of the domestic and international distribution process are coordinated to meet customer requirements in a timely and high quality.
  • To develop and ensure that established policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.
  • To develop visible procedure and key performance indicators to monitor quality and regular measurements to determine effectiveness of procedures implemented.
  • To meet or exceed established goals relative to on-time delivery and shipping accuracy performance for customer shipments.
  • To improve operational efficiencies to increase ability to process customer orders using both systems and physical improvements.
  • To ensure proper compliance and adherence to Export /Import Administration Regulations.
  • To oversee short duration projects relating to transportation, logistics, export regulations, and related functions.
Requirements
  • You must be educated to bachelor’s degree level and may also be required to hold any relevant qualifications and systems training associated with Logistics Management, as well as 5-year experience in the Logistics sector.
  • Depending upon the role being offered, fluency in a foreign language may be required, as well as an awareness of different cultures and a diplomatic approach to any associated conflicts.
  • A Logistics Manager must have effective communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail.
  • Negotiation skills are important to success as a Logistics Manager since national and international communication is a pivotal part of the job.
  • You must be numeric and be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic accountancy to successfully fulfil the role of Logistic Manager.
  • You will be able to use the Microsoft Office Suite.


Customs Clearance Officer

Duties
  • To perform and implement all customs clearance activities such as following upcoming shipment, documents transactions and day-to-day related activities in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures.
  • To participate in implementing the anticipated plans and programs as per the set goals to ensure internal work development and productivity increase.
  • To participate in the development of the customs clearance section's work plan and preparing work schedules and expediting work flow to improve efficiency of the customs clearance section.
  • To follow up with operation department and clients for reception of complete set of shipping documents for customs clearance purposes, and ensure its compliance with customs regulations and exemption lists requirements.
  • To coordinate with the clearing agents and prepare supporting documents required for clearance such as shipping guarantees requisitions and ensure on time submittal and follow up for immediate clearance.
  • To follow up with the freight forwarders, couriers and shipping lines for freight quotations and price lists for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • To confirm vessels arrival time to operation department for payment purposes and release payment requisitions for shipments to guarantee availability of shipping documents prior to vessels arrival.
  • To follow up shipments and documents with the freight forwarders and shipping lines.
  • To follow up with the transporter(s) to ensure on time & complete delivery of cleared shipments.
  • To prepare periodic reports with respect to customs clearance section's activities and achievements to be submitted to the Support Services Section Head.
  • To verify the delivery of imported product, once cleared, from the sea/air/ land port to our designated plants and/or warehouses.
  • To perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Customs Clearance Section Head.
