MEI (Micro Economic Initiatives) Field Officer III/II

Duties
  • Your main responsibilities
    • The task of the MEI Field Officer will be to implement micro-economic initiatives to the benefit of vulnerable male/female disabled and/or amputees or their families. The over-arching goal is to increase private businesses and/or ultimately employment opportunities (the latter for the most vulnerable) for the a/m target population through the provision of market driven sustainable MEI’s and by strengthening strategic linkages with the public and private sectors.
    • On a broader level and secondary, to assist, on specific request, the ICRC mission in Cambodia on any other economic assistance needs during relief programs in case of emergencies (natural disasters, situations violence).
Requirements
  • Your education and experience
    • University degree or equivalent in development, economics, finance, anthropology/social science, business management or related field.
    • 4 years work experience in a similar field with a humanitarian or development organization in the sector of MEI, microfinance, private sector development, economics, development, communal social work and counselling.
    • Conceptual understanding and practical experience with microfinance and entrepreneurship development.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of business economics, management and finance.
    • Knowledge and experiences in Project Cycle Management in particular in monitoring and evaluations is a strong advantage.
  • Your profile
    • Self-starter with a sense of responsibility, organizational skills and ability to take initiative and fulfil assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Good analytical skills, able to draft and present concepts/project proposals.
    • Good communication and computer skills (MS office).
    • Strong networker and team player, and interest in humanitarian work is a must.
    • Strong inter-personal, cultural and diplomatic skills with excellent sensitivity and understanding on providing services and economic opportunities for disabled people (often mine victims) in particular.
    • Fluent in written and spoken English and Khmer
    • Readiness to travel and spend extended periods in rural areas of Cambodia.
