IUCN, International Union of Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, Cambodia Project Office in Phnom Penh seeks to recruit a self-motivated and competent staff for the position of Field Coordinator. Directly reporting to Senior Programme Officer, IUCN Cambodia Office and additionally to Project Manager in Thailand.

The Field Coordinator will assist the Senior Project Officer in implementing the project activities in Koh Kong Province, Cambodia in collaborate with Field Coordinator in Trat Province, Thailand.

Duties + Requirements
Field Coordinator

Duties
  • Organise kick-off meetings, workshops and training sessions with relevant stakeholders in Cambodia.
  • Undertake awareness raising activities with local fishing communities
  • Coordinate conservation/restoration of mangrove and seagrass habitats with other relevant initiatives, including the Mangroves for the Future (MFF) project.
  • Coordinate and conduct dolphin survey training sessions and abundance and distribution surveys with relevant stakeholders
  • Organise regular meetings with conservation networks, local and international organizations, local governments, and academic institutions.
  • Work with at least one local community to identify community engagement activities to develop sustainable livelihoods.
  • Support the Senior Programme Officer, Cambodia and the Project Manager in Thailand in other relevant tasks, including reporting and communications and coordination with other projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor in marine biology, coastal and marine resource management, environmental science, development studies, or related area
  • Experience in working with communities and government agencies, and in conducting field activities
  • Necessary to perform the job in English
  • Willingness to frequently travel domestically with some regional also required.

DUTY STATION: The position will be based in IUCN Project Office in Koh Kong City, Cambodia

This position is open for Cambodian nationals only and is for a period of 1 year with the possibility of extension 5 months. This position is classified as A2 in our classification system. and the monthly salary is commensurate with experience.
